Sacred Heart has been transformed over the past seven years into a successful,thriving and creative school. We believe in providing children with the very best educational experience possible.
- Children from nursery up to Year 6 have a weekly Spanish lesson;
- Year 2 children have a weekly chess lesson;
- We have our very own fitness suite that can be used by children aged 7 and upwards and also by our parents;
- We employ a sports coach for our PE lessons;
- Our school council visit London every year;
- Year 6 visit the PGL centre 'Boreatton Park' for a week of outdoor activities.
That is just a flavour of the wide range of educational experiences are children undertake.
We believe it essential that children leave Sacred Heart with
a positive attitude to learning,
are responsible and caring citizens,
have a determination to succeed,
and have high level skills in all curriculum areas but especially in reading, writing and mathematics.
We are a Reading Recovery school and are involved in the Every Child a Reader, Every Child a Writer, Mathematics Recovery and Every Child Counts Projects.
In January 2011 building work on our new Extended Services Learning Centre starts which will be a fabulous and valuable resource for our school.
